Heaps of fun and action
6 or 12 hours (your choice) of non stop mountain biking action, fun & the best views and downhills of any mountain bike relay. Your team can be incredibly social and cruise round or ride hard out.
The race hub will be the velodrome in Hataitai Park and there will be music and an MC to keep you motivated and entertained whilst on or off the tracks.
The aim is to see how many laps your team can do over the 6 or 12 hour period. A tagging system will be used from one rider to the next when the timing transponder is handed over. Teams can decide how many laps each rider does and in what order.
More than just a race!
This event is more than just fun, adrenaline, excitement, team work, and socialising there is a serious side!!!
More Tracks
Encouraging more people into mountain biking is one of the aims of the event and to help achieve this some intro / average grade tracks in Wellington are needed.
So included in the entry costs is a per team levy, which will go into a special Trust fund to help fund new tracks.
The ‘track levy’ from previous years has been used to fund new tracks up Mt. Victoria.
This track was used in the '08 and '09 event.
Plus funds were donated to Makara Peak supporters to help with building of beginner tracks at Karori south.
